LINE only runs bots through a LINE Official Account, so you need one first. The account is your doorway to your agent: you add it as a friend and chat with your agent there. LINE works with agents that run on Hermes.

Before you start

  • Create a LINE Official Account at LINE Official Account Manager if you don't have one.
  • In the account settings, turn on the Messaging API. This creates a channel in the LINE Developers Console.

Steps

  1. In Able°, open Chat apps and choose Connect LINE.
  2. Choose the agent you want to talk to.
  3. In the LINE Developers Console, open your channel. On Basic settings, copy the Channel secret and paste it into Able°.
  4. On the Messaging API tab, issue a Channel access token (long-lived), copy it, and paste it into Able°.
  5. Press Connect LINE. We set the webhook for you.
  6. In LINE Official Account Manager, turn off Auto-reply messages so LINE's automatic replies don't get mixed in with your agent's.
  7. Add the account as a friend using the link on the connection page, send a message, then press Send test message.
